While
a student attending UCF, Ulf Borjesson worked
in tech support at FCTL, from 1999 to 2001. After
graduation, he worked in the Division of Graduate
Studies as Coordinator of computer applications
for 5 years. In June, 2007, Ulf joined the IR
office staff in the position of Client/Server
Senior Operations Analyst. Ulf is originally from
Sweden. Currently Ulf's position title is Client/Server
Analyst.

Position
Specifications
- Responsible
for server administration for IR, OEAS, and
UAPS servers; work at the highest level of all
computer operations phases, including design,
development and maintenance of complex server
architecture and operating system software.
- Maintain
departmental database, web, and file servers
with applicable software including user security
access; ensure continued uninterrupted service
through identification and problem resolution
in the client/server environment, incorporating
best practice back-up procedures, performance
monitoring, installation of patch updates, hot
fixes, virus protection, and effective troubleshooting
techniques.
- Responsible
for the technical support of IR, OEAS, and UAPS
offices, to include, troubleshooting and resolving
hardware and software problems; systems research
to support recommendations for purchase, installation,
and maintenance of computers, printers, laptops,
software, and other computer related equipment;
maintain inventory of hardware and software
for all offices to include development and maintenance
of aging hardware replacement plan; provide
staff training and assistance as needed on hardware
and software.
- Serve
a technical liaison with functional user groups,
Computer Services & Technology, and other
technical personnel to coordinate system functionality
and efficiencies and to determine impact corresponding
departmental and university business processes.
- Interpret
IT departmental rules and policies related to
IR, OEAS, UAPS and University information systems;
develop recommendations for new hardware and
software to improve processes and performance
to effectively manage the information systems
functions.
- Assist
with application and web security, to include
processing requests to apply, remove, and adjust
security; documenting changes in access rights.
Assist in maintaining security classes within
the data warehouse and RDS, as well as other
applications as needed, and documenting all
changes made to security classes.
